MANAGER OF DIGITAL COMMERCE DELIVERY 

(Draper Utah, In-Office) 

 

JOB PURPOSE 

This role oversees the delivery of one or more products within the Upbound Digital Commerce Journey Platform. As a Delivery Manager, your primary role is to coordinate and manage the entire software development process for your products. You will be the indirect manager for a group of technologists who work in an agile operating model to deliver on key strategic, business and technology initiatives. You will partner closely with product management and the business to ensure there is an understanding of the business needs and priorities that the team should account for when ensuring on time delivery. You are responsible and accountable for quality software delivery and maintaining team capacity, velocity and technical oversight.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Solid technical understanding of Digital Commerce technologies including but not limited to e-commerce platforms, content management systems, payment gateways, CRM systems and analytics tools 
  • Function as the engineering 2 in the box representative for Digital Commerce products, bringing about strong technical and business acumen to your product management partnership. 
  • Partner with product management to prioritize work, refine work and groom backlog 
  • Monitor and ensure the team is balancing technology work with strategic priorities and business priorities 
  • Guide and motivate the team within the respective digital factory and foster collaboration and effective communication 
  • Act as a liaison to other software engineering teams, architect solutions and solve problems across system boundaries. Act as the primary engineering SME of assigned products 
  • Provide technical oversight to software engineers on the team; assign work and monitor progress, provide engineering support for the team and the Center of Excellence and periodically contribute code for mission critical or complex software adjustments 
  • Provide managerial oversight for the contractors assigned to the team, ensuring strong performance and aligning with vendor partners on delivery or concerns with performance 
  • Responsible for ensuring the teams designs and code meet architectural goals and Application & Platform Delivery Center of Excellence standards 
  • Provide oversight and support of the teams response to 3rd tier support, monitoring, troubleshooting and working to minimize downtime events 
  • In absence of a dedicated scrum master partner, you are responsible for backlog grooming, ensuring agile maturity and ensuring your team is performing in accordance with our agile framework  

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must be highly proficient in software engineering (7-10 years of software engineering and Product development) 
  • 7-10 years of experience leading software engineering teams 
  • Understanding of agile and the agile development life cycle 
  • Ability to understand and articulate big picture technology and architecture 
  • Must have a strong understanding of platform and service development 
  • Must have demonstrated experience building, leading and delivering in complex technology environments 
  • Ability to identify and drive reusability across the value stream and the Upbound organization 
  • Ability to travel up to 15% as needed
