Transformation Technology Manager

 

PURPOSE/ JOB SUMMARY:


This newly created function shall be a key member of the team responsible for coordinating and delivering our objectives and key results at the enterprise level. In addition, the function shall also identify and deliver synergies between the Upbound lines of business, as well as oversee the execution of digital and tech operating models plus performance management frameworks and metrics to deliver tangible value to the enterprise focused on stability, speed and ability to scale.

 

This role will strategically align modern ways of working for Upbound, recognizing that as we grow, engaging teams from different backgrounds (RAC and Acima, for example) will require meaningful and purpose-driven process, tools and measurements (OKRs). 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES & DELIVERABLES:

  • Define, align and roll out Demand Intake/Prioritization/Approval process across the Upbound organization for Technology driven work (including Product organization) – including consolidated roadmaps, budgets and value realization.
  • Assess, advocate and implement automation in technology governance processes to drive consistent analytics and reporting (such as Jira, ServiceNow, Portfolio management, Confluence, Whiteboarding/Collaboration, OKR measurement, etc)
  • Partner with COEs to incorporate all governance requirements into the development lifecycle (Architecture, Security, etc.) including process for talent development in role assignments.
  • Define an evolution of Agile ways of working for Upbound – including synergies, planning increments, methodology alignment, etc. and the associated ceremonies to drive synergies and efficiencies for Upbound.
  • Develop and evolve measurable objectives for the Transformation Office based on continuous improvement expectations, team member feedback and project success metrics.

ADDITIONAL/ SHARED RESPONSIBILITES:

Close partnership with IT leaders, the product organization and operational functions within Upbound (including SMO, SIM, finance, internal audit, etc.) for compliant, sustainable and transparent operations.

 

KEY SKILL & COMPETENCIES

  • Advanced Office (Excel, PPT)
  • Advanced Collaboration Tools (Confluence, Miro, LucidChart)
  • Advanced IT Operational Tools (ServiceNow, Jira)

Functional Skills & Expertise level required:

  • Development background with project/program management experience.
  • End to end portfolio experience (prioritization, estimating, reporting, resolution, measurement)
  • Waterfall and Agile ways of working
  • Financial Acumen (Budget, forecast, reporting) 

Leadership/ Management/ Behavioral Skills & Expertise level required:

  • Strong Communication (verbal, presentation, training); appropriate for all levels within the organization
  • Proactive / Drive for Results (focus on accountability, leading without authority)
  • Collaborative approach balanced with decisive decision making
  • Strategic Thinking (plan several steps ahead as part of the transformation process)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years in Technology organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, finance, business preferred.
  • Project/Program Management experience
  • Ability to work in-office Monday through Friday.
