VP Technology & Transformation
JOB PURPOSE:
The Vice President, Technology & Transformation oversees the strategic and operational activities for the Information Technology division. As a member of the IT senior leadership team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and is instrumental in maturing the Information Technology team’s capabilities while focusing on the key imperative of operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leadership:
- Partners with the CIO and the rest of the IT Senior Leadership Team in providing technology vision, program management and IT governance across a complex multi-business environment
- Responsible for driving pre and post M&A activities, including extracting synergies.
- Oversees the design and executes digital and tech operating models and corresponding org structures, as well as performance management frameworks and metrics — to ensure the IT organization delivers value to the enterprise
- Oversees the Portfolio Management Function, defines portfolio management standards and drives global adoption
- Works with the CIO and business leadership team, providing broad insight to IT domains and capabilities in support of enterprise-wide business decisions
- Establishes and implements continuous-improvement programs for the IT organization while driving large organizational initiatives around IT Cost optimization
- Experience with Work and budget prioritization frameworks
- Defines digital Strategy, ROI based effectiveness, metrics design and tracking
- Create and deploys digital capabilities and capacity planning framework
- Delivers risk and change management initiatives across the enterprise
- Drives and facilitates effective collaboration and communications between the IT organization and various business units and functions across the enterprise
- Is responsible for directing the preparation, review and consolidation of business plans and budgets for the IT organization. Regularly review IT costs and cost structures for IT services and products to ensure financial implications of IT activities are communicated to IT and business executives
- Ensure the effective management of co-workers and external resources, responsible for performance management of internal RAC co-workers.
- Contributes to the development of annual IT operations budget/plan for all services
- Communicates with other executive team members to make sure all parts of the company effectively employ implemented technology
Technical:
- Strong leadership capability, executing as appropriate in the areas of responsibility
- Robust experience in IT Portfolio Management, IT Financial Management, and IT Strategic Planning, IT Delivery, and IT Talent Management
- Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and stakeholder management capabilities across the IT organization
- Deep knowledge of portfolio/project management processes, techniques and tools
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies including agile, waterfall and hybrid methodologies.
- Support on-going RAC project priorities – provide accurate project estimates for the various Support related teams, deliver on time and within budget, meet commitments
- Ensure compliance with established standards and practices which are applicable to the project/product/data and are current within the department
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others, including senior business executives
REQUIREMENTS:
- 15+ years of IT experience with progressively higher management experience. Also, must have variety and breadth of IT experience in various aspects of IT and Vendor management
- Fundamental Understanding of Development methodologies in building, testing, and deploying applications.
- Experience in operational planning and execution in a multi-sourced environment
- Proven skills in budget preparation and monitoring, planning and organizing, management leadership, and relationship building.
- Experience in project and portfolio management processes and project management office operations and management processes.
- Strong customer service orientation, with a heart for continuous delivery optimization of services
