Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE: This position contributes to Rent-A-Center’s success by providing routine general store development support to the Business Development department.  The position will assist to ensure all business development projects are completed in accordance with RAC requirements.  Models and acts in accordance with RAC guiding principles.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support and project coordination to multiple departments within Home Office and Field Management. Serve as department contact for assigned area. Assist with correspondence, store development procedures, project documentation, and email. Keep team up-to-date with information.
  • Create and update documents for the department as related to project schedules, status and cost tracking reports. May assist in preparing charts, tables, graphs, and other presentation material. Work closely with the VP and Director to identify accurate project information and pipeline updates.
  • Respond to internal co-worker requests for department material and information while maintaining effective working relationships. Resolve complex and non-routine by coordinating with appropriate co-worker.
  • Organize and maintain system(s) for project documentation. Conduct market, competitor, and customer research as needed. May index records and information.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the department and to the Director under direct supervision.
  • Research, propose and develop new business opportunities to Operations (e.g., vet proposals of new products/services from current or new partners/vendors, etc).
  • Develop and write training materials, procedure manuals, sales materials and work with other departments to implement these materials, which includes completing feasibility studies as they relate to system requirements and user interfaces, as well as revenue projections and cost of goods and profitability.
  • Contribute in the planning, conduct roll-out meetings, staffing and training of co-workers in new RAC Acceptance locations or other Business Development initiatives.
  • Assist existing underperforming locations.  Train and build relationships with RAC Business Partners as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience in a business development/project support role
  • Understanding of multi-unit retail store operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to travel as needed (will not be extensive travel)
