Job Description:

The purpose of the Senior Operations Portfolio Analyst role is to analyze the portfolio, operational performance, and financial performance across the division, to create visibility and action that captures multi-million-dollar profit impact on an annualized basis. This includes continuous trend analysis, root cause analysis across regions or organizations, external and internal evaluation, and leading indicator analysis that brings to light critical gaps and opportunities across the division. The output of the analyses will include actionable insights continuously shared with EVP, SVP, RD or key cross-functional partners (Asset Protection) that will ultimately lead to action capturing that opportunity. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Portfolio Analysis
    • Portfolio performance analysis with key indicators including collection rate, charge off rate and roll rate
    • Assess health of the portfolio by region and district
    • Identify critical areas for improvement within operations (division, region, district and stores)
    • Quantify financial impact resulted from improvement in merit
  • Consistent report-outs that provide visibility and follow-up across all levels
    • KFI reporting with full meaningful analysis (refined)
    • Outlier exception reporting across high-impact revenue or controllable expenses
    • Monthly divisional business report-out
  • Analyzes profit results to determine contributing factors of underperforming organizations and provides business solutions impacting revenue or controllable expenses
  • Quarterly Business Review – Divisional Analysis
    • Portfolio performance metrics reporting and analysis
      • e.g. collection rate, fraud rate, straight roller %
      • Identify regional differences and drivers for performance, besides macro economics
      • Quantify opportunity $ by org level (revenue, controllable expenses)
      • Identify trends and develop reporting on revenue and controllable expense trends
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to assist SVP in understanding root causes of outlying trends across division
  • Key fraud indicators
    • Use statistical model to identify most at-risk organizations (regions/districts/stores)
    • Develop business analysis/reporting, designed to detect theft/fraud and loss trends in the birth of their life cycle through the data warehouse, POS, inventory, and logistics systems
    • Perform root cause analysis on key metrics
    • Assist in defining most valuable metrics
    • For high-risk situations, share with Asset Protection for investigations
  • Key Stakeholders / partners
    • EVP/SVP/Sr. Ops/Strategy
    • DE/Risk Analytics
    • Asset Protection

 

Key Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelors’ degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, etc), Master’s preferred.
  • Proficient with SQL and with the use of at least one of the following programming languages: SAS, R, or Python.
  • Advanced skill with Excel
  • Ideally 4+ years of experience with credit and portfolio analysis, or advanced analytics
  • Strong analytical and communication skill
