Job Description:

Job Summary: The Manager of Pricing Analytics is responsible for driving pricing, margin and general financial analysis.  This includes price/product optimization, pricing strategies and management reporting.  This person will also build financial analysis templates and models plus assist with analysis of corporate initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Reporting Support

  • Manage category performance (sales, margin, customer retention, etc) through score carding, change tracking.
  • Perform analysis on exception pricing requests to assess reasonableness.
  • Lead the design and creation of the pricing team’s performance data repository.
  • Lead in the design and maintenance of the ETL processes that populate the data repository.
  • Provide access to and reporting of pricing data needed by Inventory and Merchandising teams to ensure that merchandise being ordered is optimized.
  • Provide data required for Sr. management to understand break even and cost benefit analysis.

Performance Analytics

  • Regular pricing and analysis:  Perform detailed statistical analysis of product performance and competitive data to optimize regular prices.
  • Assist in the development of better analytical methodologies where possible.
  • Use performance data to initiate price changes when pricing decision methodologies signal necessity.

Strategy Support

  • Works with the pricing and planning teams to develop, plan and recommend pricing actions that drive additional profit for the company through product, customer, pricing zone projects.  Supports the pricing team in modeling revenue and margin opportunities.
  • Promotion pricing and analysis:  Coordinate with inventory management, marketing and merchandising to optimize promotions.  Analyze results and recommend items and prices for future promotions.
  • Provide historical or current pricing and performance data to senior management as needed to support development of pricing and sales strategies.
  • Perform ad-hoc strategic pricing projects as identified by Director of Pricing.
