Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for ensuring coworkers are paid accurately, timely and in accordance with written protocols, while providing exceptional customer service to our coworkers

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides pro-active, timely and knowledgeable customer service to all coworkers on matters concerning the coworker records and payroll
  • Performs administrative and recordkeeping duties in support of specific payroll responsibilities – imports time records into payroll system and verifies balances and exceptions, processes manual and off-cycle payrolls, prepares and inputs general ledger journal entries and processes personnel actions (promotions, demotions, LOA, transfers, terminations) timely and accurately  
  • Supports the function’s mission of meeting compliance, quality, quantity and confidentiality standards, ensures data security and systems protocols are adhered to and assists with complex project tasks as directed by management
  • Possesses solid working knowledge of internal payroll practices and procedures – capable of working directly with human resources, field coworkers and FSC colleagues to investigate and resolve complex payroll and/or timekeeping issues (e.g. inquiries concerning labor distribution)
  • Works with operations management to secure timecard approvals and to gain corrections to earlier submitted time data within designated time parameters
  • Calculates and processes all weekly, monthly and quarterly incentive payments
  • Assists with regular payroll processing for Canada and Mexico
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 5 years progressive experience in payroll administration, retail and multi-state experience preferred – previous international payroll experience a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state and local payroll rules and regulations
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills – strong attention to detail, analytical and possesses a proven results orientation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Human Resources and ADP Payroll systems
